Competition Terms and Conditions

1.1 This competition closes on 3 February 2022.

1.2 Any entries received after the Closing Date (for whatever reason) will be invalid.

1.3 Condé Nast Publications Ltd decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Condé Nast Publications Ltd reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this promotion in the event of major catastrophe, war, strike, earthquake or any actual or anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstance beyond either Condé Nast Publications Ltd control.

1.4 This competition is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

2. Entrant restrictions
2.1 Open to UK and Eire residents only. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and proof of age will be required before the prize is dispatched.

2.2 The competition is not open to anyone associated with The Condé Nast Publications Ltd or any associated companies.

2.3 The Condé Nast Publications Limited reserves the right to ask entrants to verify eligibility to enter by providing a valid form of I.D.

3. Route of Entry
3.1 Entry is free of charge – no purchase is necessary, internet access is required.

3.2 No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost or delayed, or which are not received for any reason.

3.3 Condé Nast Publications Ltd accepts no responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete entries arising from the Eligible Participant’s error, computer malfunction, viruses, bugs or other such causes.

3.4 Condé Nast Publications Ltd are in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party websites or home page access or where any reproduction of the information relating to this competition misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the competition.

4. Competition Details
4.1 All qualifying entrants who answer the question correctly will be placed in a free prize draw.

4.2 The prize-winner will be drawn at random after the closing date.

4.3 Winners will be notified within 28 days of the draw taking place. They will have 14 days to claim the prize. After which if not claimed, another winner will be chosen at random.

4.4 The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

4.5 The prize is a two-night stay at The Standard, London (“hotel”) for the winner and one guests (18 years of age or older) in a Junior suite room (double occupancy)

4.6 The prize also includes one dinner at Decimo for the winner and one guest (up to £250 in total), and two breakfasts at Isla for the winner and one guest (up to £200 in total) during their stay.

5. Prize Restrictions and Details

5.1 There is no cash alternative to the prize.

5.2 The prize is subject to availability and must be taken between Thursday 3 February 2022 and 3 February 2023.

5.3 Blackout dates apply.

5.4 The prize does not include any costs and expenses not expressly detailed above, including without limitation travel to the hotel, the cost of any visas, incidentals, gratuities, in-room or other personal charges, or taxes. For additional services, fees and charges may apply.

5.5 This offer cannot be combined with any other promotion

5.7 The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.

5.8 The winner will be required to provide a valid identification and credit card (for incidental and other personal charges) at the time of check-in.

6. Additional terms

6.1 The winner and guest must comply fully with all applicable laws and with any hotel or governmental health and safety measures then in effect, including with respect to the coronavirus.

6.2 Any violation of hotel’s policies, any lack or payment for hotel incidentals, or any reasonable suspicion of engagement in any illegal behavior, in hotel’s sole discretion, may result in winner’s hotel reservation being cancelled and/or forfeiture of the prize.

6.3 Neither Promoter nor The Standard will have any liability to the winner or guest if the winner and/or guest are unable to receive the full benefit of the prize or are denied entry to, or are asked to leave, the hotel or any other venue as a result of a failure to abide by the hotel or other venue’s terms, these terms and conditions or any applicable law, or as a result of inappropriate behaviour.

6.4 To the fullest extent permissible by law, Standard UK Management, Ltd. (“Standard UK”) will not be liable for: (i) any loss or damage caused by a third party who is not acting on behalf of or under the direct instructions of Standard UK; (ii) any loss or damage occurring as a result of the winner taking up and using any third-party product or service forming part of the Prize (except where caused by the negligence of Standard UK, its agents or distributors or that of their employees); (iii) any loss or damage caused by any event or circumstance beyond Standard UK’s reasonable control; (iv) any loss of profits or revenue, loss of anticipated savings or loss of goodwill; or (v) any unavailability of Standard UK’s websites, apps or social media accounts. However, nothing in these terms and conditions limits or excludes Standard UK’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or for any matter for which liability cannot be lawfully limited or excluded. Consumers have legal rights in relation to products that are faulty or not as described and services which are not performed with reasonable care and skill and these legal rights are in addition to and are not affected in any way by anything contained in these terms and conditions. 6.5 The Promoter will need to share certain personal data of the winner with Standard UK for the purpose of making arrangements for the hotel stay. Such data will include the first and last name of the winner, as well as certain contact information.

6.6 At the point of entry to this Promotion, each entrant will be given the opportunity to opt in to receive email marketing about The Standard products, services, offers and promotions from The Standard group of companies. If you opt in to receive such marketing emails, your email address will be shared with and processed by Standard International Management, LLC for the purpose of sending such marketing to you.
