Competition Terms and Conditions

The Promoter of this competition is Wanderlust Travel Media.
The Provider of this competition is Malaysia Airlines and Sarawak Tourism Board.
The closing date for entries is December 9, 2020. Entries after this date will not be valid.
The prize entitles the winner and one other person travelling together on return Economy Class tickets with Malaysia Airlines from London Heathrow to Kuching International Airport and Miri Airport via Kuala Lumpur, inclusive of taxes and charges.
The prize is valid for travel between 12 January 2021 and 10 December 2021, with the exception of blackout dates, i.e. 11-17 Feb 2021, 1-5 April 2021, 9-11 April 2021, 1 July to 31 Aug 2021, 1-9 Oct 2021, both dates are inclusive in the above period (travel permitted based on current operational schedule at the time of travel). Travel must be completed by 12 December 2021. Booking must be made no later 31 January 2021. Seats and booking confirmation are subject to availability at the time of booking. Both passengers must travel together.
The prize booking dates may change based on the operating schedule/flight cancellations from the airline. Malaysia Airlines will contact the prizewinner and make the necessary booking changes.
The ticket/s you have been awarded are non-transferable and non re-routeable in any way. This means that your ticket cannot be transferred into another person’s name and it cannot be exchanged or sold for cash and cannot be changed to any origin or destination. All flights are to depart and arrive from London Heathrow Airport. The validity of the ticket will be as per the prize winner’s letter, i.e. avoiding Easter, Christmas & New Year and bound by the operating schedule of the airline at the time.
The accommodation and tour arrangements in Sarawak will be subject to availability at the time of booking. The resort will confirm when request is received.
It is the responsibility of the winner/s to ensure they have a valid passport and obtain any necessary vaccinations or applicable visas for their trip. No responsibility will be taken if the winner/s are unable to travel due to insufficient documentation.
Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the winner. It is the responsibility of the winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.
Any costs incurred from changes post booking, such as a name change or other amends, are the winner’s responsibility to pay.
The winner is responsible for getting to any departure points (for flights etc), in time for security checks and the check-in procedures on the day of departure. Travel costs to airports are at the winner’s own expense.
The following exclusions apply: The prize does not include travel insurance, passport or visa costs, meals/beverages, any applicable taxes not included in the price of the ticket, ground transportation, excursions or transfers (unless otherwise stated), personal spending money or any other costs of a personal nature not stated, all of which are the sole responsibility of the winner.
The Prize does not include travel on oneworld carriers or designated codeshare flights where Malaysia Airlines is not the operating carrier. All travel must be completed before the expiry date and no extension of validity will be made.
Prize tickets are not entitled to any Upgrades, Access to Golden Lounges and Excess Baggage. Mileage accrual is not available for this complimentary ticket.
The prize cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative. This prize is non-transferrable and non-refundable.

The prize must be taken as stated within the competition terms and conditions and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated.
If the prize is not claimed by the expiry date stated, the prize will be forfeited and no correspondence will be entered into. All travel must be completed within one month from ticket date of departure.
Once tickets are issued they are non-changeable, non-refundable, or upgradeable. Once booked, the origin and destination, flight time and date of travel cannot be changed. Stopovers are not permitted. Flights are subject to Malaysia Airlines’ terms and conditions of carriage, which can be found at malaysiaairlines.com/uk
The prize winner is solely responsible for declaring details of any award provided under the promotion to HMRC and for paying any tax liability which may arise.
Entries can only be submitted online via the competition entry on Wanderlust’s website. Entrants must enter a valid name and email address.
Entry is free and open to residents of the mainland UK (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 18 or over who submit a valid entry to the competition.
The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The judges cannot accept responsibility for late or lost entries. Entry cannot be accepted if all details are not provided.
Incomplete, fraudulent, multiple or spam entries will be disallowed.
Any Entrant may be disqualified from this Competition at the discretion of the Promoter or Provider for any failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions or cheating in any way such as: using any cheats, hacks or other 3rd party “helper” applications or “bots” to simulate human interaction; exploiting the application in any way or using the application in any way that circumvents the purpose and conditions of the Competition. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry.
Only entries submitted following the specified entry mechanics will be deemed valid entries. Any entries which are deemed offensive will be disqualified at the discretion of the Promoter or Provider and no further correspondence will be entered into.
No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries.
Employees of the promoter or provider, all other prize partners, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion, and their families, are excluded from entering this competition.
The winner will be chosen at random from those entrants whose entries have reached Wanderlust by the closing date.
The Promoter will select one winner and use reasonable endeavours to contact the winner/s using the contact details supplied upon entry within one month of the competition closing.
The winner will be contacted by email or phone and details will be provided via email on how to claim and book the prize. In the event that the prize notification email is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternative winner will be selected from all remaining (non-winning) eligible entries. The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of closing. If the prize is unclaimed by the initial winners drawn within fourteen days (14) days, no further draws will take place, as Wanderlust Magazine’ decision regarding selection of winners is final and there will be no further correspondence.

The Promoter and Provider accept no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. The Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable for other goods or services and cannot be taken as cash.
Malaysia Airlines and Sarawak Tourism Board reserve the right to substitute a prize of at least equal value in the event of unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize. Should the value of any prize be less than the value stated, the difference will not be awarded in cash or in kind.
The Promoter, prize Providers and any associated third party accept no liability for any loss, expense or damage which is suffered whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss and whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case such liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).
The Promoter and Provider will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter or Provider including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures. Tax implications may arise from the receipt or use of a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.
In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or any other circumstance beyond the control of the Promoter or Provider, they reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion at any time and without notice. This also applies to any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation, or if travel would be contrary to UK Foreign Office advice, or if circumstances arise outside of its control that prevent the implementation of the prize.
If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned (for example but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other causes) beyond the control of the Promoter or Provider which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, both parties reserve the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion subject to any written directions under applicable legislation. Both parties also reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who they deem to have breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s and Provider’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
The Promoter and Provider are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this promotion.
The competition will be delivered under the terms of the UK’s laws and regulations.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
The winner may be required to take part in reasonable publicity and by entering the competition or prize draw, the winner/s agree to their name and location to be published on the Wanderlust Magazine/website in the form of ‘title’, ‘surname’ and ‘county or country’.
The Promoter will also use entrants’ personal data for direct marketing purposes where consent has been provided via the opt-in check boxes provided. This includes communications containing news, offers and information. We may also share your personal information, if opt in consent has been given, with third parties, to help manage our business and deliver services. These third parties may include service providers, who perform functions on our behalf such as sending emails, analysis of data, providing marketing assistance.
