This is the moment for you to win a share of £8,000 by capturing what it means to be emotionally connected to people with Be Momentful.
In this time of social distancing it’s never been as important to show people that you are thinking about them with messages of love and support. Be Momentful know this more than anyone as the global pandemic has seen the downloads and usage of their ‘moment sharing’ app soar. And now to reward people who use their app, they have created a short film competition that gives you the chance to win a share of £8,000.
You don’t have to be a professional filmmaker to enter.
The beauty of this film competition is in its simplicity. You’re simply showing what it means to send and receive a moment from the Be Momentful app, and you can use any medium you want. Talking about the film competition, Tim Bleszynski, at 1616 Media who own Be Momentful, commented that: “The beauty of today’s smartphone driven world is that anyone can make a film with ease and upload it and share online. Every day we see filmed moments, animations with toys and drawings… our society is driven by people-filmed content and so in this time of lockdown we wanted to give everyone the chance to win a special prize just for doing what they do on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok… it’s just that this time they’ll have a chance to win a share of £8,000.”

From the Producer’s behind the Sherlock Holmes film series and movies starring Adam Sandler to the talents involved with Billy Elliott and The History Boys; Be Momentful have collected together some incredible talent who will judge the entries… but it’s not all about the quality and polish of the films explains John Wilson the film editor behind Billy Elliott: “What we’re looking for as judges are films that demonstrate creating an emotional connection between two people. It could be a moment that makes us laugh or cry or just touches us in some way. This isn’t about Hollywood production qualities, it’s about authentic human stories of people reaching out to each other during lockdown with a moment from the Be Momentful app.”

Competition Terms and Conditions
Entering
Employees or agencies of 1616 Media (“1616”), (collectively, “the Promoters”, “We” or “Us”), or their group companies, or their family members, or anyone else connected with the Competition, may not enter the Competition.
There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
By entering the Competition you (“You”) are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
To enter the Competition, complete the short registration process at www.thisisthemoment.info/enter-contest with up to 100 words pitching yourself and your film
Upload your file to a video hosting site and provide a link in your profile. The film must be between 30 and 180 seconds in length and submitted asa URL. The entry should show a Moment card being discovered, written, sent and opened, between a sender and a recipient.
Final credits must include creator name or handle. Any use of foreign language must have English subtitles.
By entering this Competition, you agree to join the 1616 database and to be contacted occasionally by 1616 using the details submitted (including via email) in relation to the competition and Be Momentful.
You are responsible for all creation and participation costs (if any) of your Competition entry
Submissions are made under one name and one corresponding email address. Multiple entries are permitted, however please use a different email address for any subsequent entries. Please acknowledge any co-creators in your pitch and in the film credits.
Participants who sign-up to the competition and download the app (via the official competition site ONLY) will be granted 50 free credits to use the app for the duration of the competition. Once the winners are announced, any remaining credits will be forfeited / cancelled. Participants are free to continue using the app using one of the available price plans and account sign-ups.
By entering, You own the copyright to your Competition entry as its author. If another person has filmed Your entry, You warrant that you have received an assignment of all associated copyright to that entry from that person. The Promoters may ask to see evidence of that assignment at any time.
Your entry must only feature You and/or, if appropriate, other people with their express permission, must be Your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content (including background music) that You do not have permission and license to use, must not promote Your own or third party goods or services or include any trade marks (other than those belonging to the Promoters), and must not show inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, or otherwise be obscene, defamatory, distasteful, offensive, or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations, or in breach of any confidentiality obligations owed by you to third parties. If We have reason to believe your entry is not your own work, if a person objects to the inclusion of a video in which they are featured being included in the Competition, or if your entry otherwise breaches the terms then We may not consider it and may disqualify it. We may also disqualify Your entry if You do not meet the entry criteria, You are not eligible to enter the Competition, You cannot be contacted or You do not respond within 5 days of being contacted by Us in relation to your entry. In the event of disqualification, we may select a new winner, category winner or spot award entry in accordance with the selection processes.
Judging and prize awards
A panel of independent judges will choose the winning entries from all the valid Competition entries using the criteria described at their absolute discretion. No correspondence will be entered into.
Prize winners will be notified within four weeks of the Competition close date. Prizes are detailed on the Competition website.
Winners have the right to reject their prize, and unverified winners may be disqualified, in which case prizes will be reallocated at the company’s discretion
Prizes will be distributed via bank transfer to confirmed and verified winners who shall have evidenced their claim to the submission. Prize winnings can only be paid to the identify who submitted the entry, and that person can share the prize with co-creators at their discretion.
No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

The Competition commences at 9am GMT on 5 June 2020 and closes at 11.59pm on 30 June 2020. Entries received after that date and time will not be considered.
The legal bits
Entrants will participate in promotional activity on the Promoters’ reasonable request. Entrants consent to the use by the Promoter, both before and after the closing date of the Competition for an unlimited time, of their entry in full or part, and name, for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including web) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and in entering the Competition, all entrants consent to the same.
The Promoters shall use and take care of any personal information yousupply to them as described in their privacy policies, copies of which can be seen at https://bemomentful.com/privacy-policy-2/ and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the competition, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your competition entry.
The Promoters may pass entrants’ details to third parties and/or otherwise engage third party providers in connection with this Competition where the third party is acting on the Promoters’ behalf for the purposes of administering or judging this Competition and/or any subsequent publicity, and/or for the purposes of sending you the Promoters’ marketing materials; and/or as otherwise required by law.

The Promoters accept no responsibility for any fraudulent entry or fraudulent misrepresentation, damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by You as a result of entering the Competition or accepting any prize. The Promoters further disclaim liability for any injury or damage to You or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition.
The Promoters reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside their control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud).
The decision of the Promoters in all matters under its control is final and binding. Where any public vote is involved, the Promoters reserve the right to discount votes if they suspect fraudulent bulk voting or multiple voting is or has taken place to inappropriately influence or manipulate the voting procedures.
The Competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
