Enter now for your chance to win a Roman-inspired family break, courtesy of new film Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans.

The prize includes a three-night stay in a luxury lodge near Hadrian’s Wall with deck, private hot tub and garden, entrance to the Roman Vindolanda Fort & Museum and Roman Army Museum, a travel allowance of £200 and food and essentials allowance of £250.

There are also five runner-up prizes of Horrible Histories signed goodies and 20 runner-up prizes of Horrible Histories merchandise bundles.

Competition Terms and Conditions

1. THE PROMOTER
1.1 The promoter is: English Heritage of The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon SN2 2EH.

2. THE PRIZE DRAW
2.1 The title of the prize draw is Win a Roman-inspired family escape courtesy of Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans.

3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The prize draw will run from 00.01am on Wednesday 26 June to 11.59pm on Saturday 31 August inclusive.

3.2 All prize draw entries must be received by the English Heritage by no later than 11.59pm on Saturday 31 August 2019. All prize draw entries received after this time are automatically disqualified..

3.3 Enter the prize draw by completing the online entry form provided.

3.4 English Heritage will not accept:

(a) responsibility for prize draw entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the prize draw.

3.5 By submitting a prize draw entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.6 The prize draw winner will be selected at random by English Heritage. The decision of English Heritage acting reasonably will be final.

4. ELIGIBILITY
4.1 The prize draw is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except: employees or members of their immediate families or households of English Heritage or Immediate Media or their holding or subsidiary companies.

4.2 In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. English Heritage may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the prize draw.

4.3 English Heritage will not accept prize draw entries that are:

(a) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or
(b) incomplete.

4.4 There is a limit of one entry per person.

4.5 English Heritage reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

5. THE PRIZE
5.1 The first prize is a three-night stay for four people in a luxury lodge, entrance to the Roman Vindolanda Fort & Museum and Roman Army Museum, a travel allowance of £200 and a food and essentials allowance of £250.

5.2 Dates of travel are weekends, from 4 October until 16 December 2019 and 10 January until 14 September 2020, excluding British national holidays. These travel periods cannot be amended or extended.

5.3 Winner must be over 18. Prize is subject to availability, has no cash alternative, is non-transferable and non-refundable.

5.4 At least one person travelling must be aged 18 or over. If winner is under 18 then at least one of his/her guests must be his/her parent or guardian.

5.5 Winner and his/her guests are solely responsible for all other meals and expenses not specifically set forth herein.

6. WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
6.1 English Heritage will contact the winner personally by Thursday 12 September 2019, using the email address provided with the prize draw entry.

6.2 The decision of English Heritage is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.3 English Heritage will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available within 7 days, English Heritage reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received before 11.59pm on Saturday 31 August 2019.

6.4 English Heritage does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
7.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, English Heritage, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of English Heritage, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

8. OWNERSHIP OF PRIZE DRAW ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
8.1 English Heritage does not claim any rights of ownership in your prize draw entry.

9. DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY
9.1 By entering the prize draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the prize draw entry may be held and used only by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the prize draw.

10. GENERAL
10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, English Heritage may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the prize draw.

10.2 English Heritage reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.

10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
