The winner and up to nine guests will stay at The Boathouse, a secluded self-catering property on the banks of the River Tweed, in Northumberland. This dog-friendly, five-bedroom house sits at the end of a no-through lane, with the river flowing out front, and has open fires, a farmhouse kitchen and a slate-floored dining room inside. Outdoorsy activities beckon: exploring Berwick’s Elizabethan fortifications, going for moody walks on Bamburgh’s beach, or maybe even painting Norham Castle as Turner did. The pretty village of Norham itself is half a mile away. Scotland is just across the river.
