Competition Description

Lonely Planet have teamed up with the five-star The Danna Langkawi and Malaysia Airlines to offer you and a guest the chance to win a five-night luxury break on the tropical island of Langkawi.

The Prize

– Return economy flights from London Heathrow to Langkawi (via Kuala Lumpur) with Malaysia Airlines

– Five nights in The Danna Langkawi for two people in a Merchant Room on a B&B basis with bubbly breakfast

– Complimentary set dinner for two at the hotel in Planter’s Restaurant

– Free return local transfers between Langkawi Airport and The Danna

After a flight via Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur, you will reach this island on the country’s border with Thailand. At either end of Langkawi, forested mountains rise from the Andaman Sea, and between them lies a great variety of beach locations.

The Danna Langkawi is a luxury resort set slightly back from a white-sand beach, Pantai Kok, facing an island-sheltered bay. The hotel is built and decorated in a contemporary style that recalls the vintage architecture and interiors of colonial-era Malaysia, especially when afternoon tea is served in the Straits & Co café. Menus at the three restaurants here take in local specialities, as well as Italian cuisine and wider tastes from Asia and Europe.

The hotel’s three-tiered infinity pool is the largest of its kind on the island, and nearby you can also take a cable car up into the mountains to walk across the jungle canopy on the SkyBridge. Further afield there are waterfalls, limestone coastal formations, traditional kampung (villages) and night markets to explore.
