Only one entry per person.
The promoter of this competition is Wanderlust Travel Media.
The prize provider of this competition is Malaysia Airlines.
The closing date for entries is December 15, 2019.
One (1) prize available. The prize entitles the winner and one other person travelling together on return Economy Class tickets with Malaysia Airlines on flights to Penang via Kuala Lumpur, inclusive of taxes and charges, departing from Heathrow Terminal 4.
The prize is valid for travel between January 16, 2020 and July 5, 2020, with the exception of blackout dates April 6, 2020 – April 17, 2020 (travel permitted Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu only vice versa). Travel must be completed by July 5, 2020.
Booking must be made no later than January 15, 2020. Seats are subject to availability at the time of booking. Please note travel over the UK and Malaysia national holidays, including UK school holidays are not permitted. The prize must be used by the winner and companion travelling together on the same flights/dates. If the prize is not claimed by the expiry date stated, the prize will be forfeited, and no correspondence will be entered into. All travel must be completed within one month from ticket date of departure.
The validity of the ticket will be as per the prize winner’s letter, i.e. avoiding Easter, Summer Peak season, Christmas & New Year and half term school holidays.
Malaysia Airlines shall pay any applicable transportation taxes and government-imposed fees related to the prize.
Except as otherwise provided, the prize-winner and their travelling companion (the “winners”) are responsible for: any and all costs, expenses and taxes not expressly described herein including, without limitation, ground transportation, accommodation, gratuities, merchandise, telephone calls, personal expenses of any nature for overnight layover, meals and beverages, service charges and entertainment.
The winners will be responsible for their own travel insurance. It is the responsibility of the winners to ensure they have a valid passport each and obtain any necessary vaccination or visas for their trip. No responsibility will be taken if the winners are unable to travel due to insufficient documentation.
Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the winner. It is the responsibility of the winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.
The ticket/s awarded are non-transferable and non re-routeable in any way. This means that tickets cannot be transferred into another person’s name and it cannot be exchanged or sold for cash and cannot be changed to any origin or destination. All flights are to depart and arrive from London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4.
Prize does not include travel on oneworld carriers or designated codeshare flights where Malaysia Airlines is not the operating carrier. All travel must be completed before the expiry date and no extension of validity will be made.
Prize tickets are not entitled to any Upgrades, Access to Golden Lounges and Excess Baggage. Mileage accrual is not available for this complimentary ticket.
Once tickets are issued they are non-changeable, non-refundable, or upgradeable. Once booked, the origin and destination, flight time and date of travel cannot be changed. Stopovers are not permitted. Flights are subject to Malaysia Airlines’ terms and conditions of carriage, which can be found at malaysiaairlines.com/uk
The prize winner is solely responsible for declaring details of any award provided under the promotion to HMRC and for paying any tax liability which may arise.
Hotels (E&O Penang and E&O Kuala Lumpur): Validity of voucher is January 16 – July 5, Close out dates January 22 – 31, 2020 (both dates included). Reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance quoting the voucher number. Tourism Tax of RM10nett per room per night is payable by the guest directly to the hotel upon check out.
The winner and their guest must be over 18 years of age.
No purchase necessary.
The prize must be taken as stated within the competition terms and conditions and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated.
The prize does not include travel insurance, visas, meals or any other costs of a personal nature not stated (including spending money) for the winner and their companion.
Entry is open to those aged 18 years and over and must be a resident of the UK.
This competition is not open to employees of Malaysia Airlines or any companies, agencies, families and Wanderlust employees directly connected with the administration of this promotion.
The prize is non-transferable, and no cash alternative is available. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The judges cannot accept responsibility for late or lost entries. Entry cannot be accepted if all details are not provided.
Incomplete, fraudulent, multiple or spam entries will be disallowed.
The prize winners will be drawn at random from those entrants whose entries have reached Wanderlust by the closing date.
The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to contact the winners using the contact details supplied upon entry within 7 days of the competition closing. If the prize is unclaimed by the initial winners drawn within fourteen days (14) days, no further draws will take place, as Wanderlust’s decision regarding selection of winners is final and there will be no further correspondence. If a winner does not respond within 14 business days of the first notification, the winner forfeits their right to claim the prize. The Promoter shall not be responsible should a winner provide incorrect contact details.
By entering the competition or prize draw, the winner/s agree to their name and location to be published on the Wanderlust Magazine/website in the form of ‘title’, ‘surname’ and ‘county or country’.
Wanderlust reserve the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes at an equivalent value) if, in Wanderlust’s sole discretion, a competition is not capable of being conducted as specified.
The Promoter, Prize Providers and any associated third party accept no liability for any loss, expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with the promotion or the winners’ enjoyment of the prize, other than such liability that cannot be excluded by law including death or personal injury caused by negligence, where liability shall be limited to the minimum permissible by law.
The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this prize and without notice in the unlikely event of a major catastrophe, war, unrest, earthquake or any similar event, or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation, or if travel would be contrary to UK Foreign Office advice, or if circumstances arise outside of its control that prevent the implementation of the prize.
The Promoter (Wanderlust Travel Media) is based in the UK and the competition prize will be delivered under the terms of the UK’s laws and regulations.
Those entering after the competition closing date will not be counted.
The winner will be selected randomly.
Any breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant will void their entry. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry.
The winner may be required to take part in reasonable publicity as specified by the promoter.
The prize cannot be transferred once passenger details are confirmed as part of the prize. Any changes or alterations to passenger details may incur a fee.
The promoter cannot be held liable for IT system failures or delays or loss of entries.
Optional activities and travel insurance are not included in the prize. It is strongly advised that you take out travel insurance for the relevant period.
Employees of the promoter, all other prize partners, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion, and their families, are excluded from entering this competition.
The promoter reserves the right to cancel this competition, or to change any condition of this competition, without notice.
Acceptance of these terms and conditions is a condition of entry.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
The Promoter, Prize Providers and Prize Partners will also use entrants’ personal data for direct marketing purposes where consent has been provided via the opt-in check boxes provided. This includes communications containing news, offers and information. We may also share your personal information, if opt in consent has been given, with third parties, to help manage our business and deliver services.
