TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Wickes & Absolute Radio Q32019” (the “Competition”). These terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition.

1.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

The prize winner for the online competition will be selected from those persons who successfully answer the online question correctly. The online winner will be chosen by electronic random draw on 23/09/2019

Early Breakfast Friday competition: the winner for this competition will be chosen at random from all texts.

Early Breakfast Monday Competition: the winner for this competition will be chosen at random from all texts.

Dave Berry Breakfast Show competitions: the winner for this competition will be picked to play from all callers at random. The winner will be whoever successfully answers the competition question correctly/identifies the correct answer from any clues given/successfully identifies the right answer or outcome from the clues/instructions given.

2.Entry Platforms and Costs

Calls from landlines will be charged at national rate. Calls from mobiles may cost considerably more, text will costs £00.50p

Online entry and entry via post / social media is free.

3. DATES

Online Start Date and End Date. From 22/06/2019 at 00:01 until 20/09/2019 at 23:59

The Early Breakfast Competitions will be held every Monday and Friday (unless in the event of a bank holiday or other public holiday where it may be moved) between 4AM and 6AM. Specific competition opening times will be specified by the presenter.

The Dave Berry Breakfast Show competition will be open every Friday between 6AM and 10AM. Specific competition opening times will be specified by the presenter.

Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid.

Winner Announcement. The name and the home town of the winner(s) (s) will be announced on the Dave Berry Breakfast show every Friday- and on the Early Breakfast show every Friday and Monday.

4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.
Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, incl. the Prize Provider, must not enter.

5. THE PRIZE

Online Prize: £1000 Wickes Gift Card

On air Prize: £250 Wickes Gift Card

In the event that there is an additional prize added, these ts&cs will be updated with the relevant information and the additional prize will be stated fully on air.

Use of a false name will result in disqualification.

The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and there is no cash alternative. Wickes reserves the right to substitute the Prize with one of equal or greater value at any time.
Any changes to the prize draw will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by Wickes.
Entrants who sign up to the Wickes marketing can opt out at any time. All marketing content which is sent to entrants will have an opt-out link within the content.

The Prize is provided by Wickes and we are not responsible for any aspect of the Prize, including unsatisfactory quality or late delivery.

OTHER CONDITIONS

DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider,) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to the prize provider to arrange delivery of the prize. Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you’ve submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize (if you win!). We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

MISCELLANEOUS.
Entries that don’t comply with these terms won’t be accepted and you may be disqualified if we think you’ve breached them.
Participants cannot enter more than once
If there is a dispute about the operation of the Competition or correctness of any answers given, our decision is final and no discussion will be entered into on this subject.
The correct answers to questions must exactly match our answers to win.
We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.
You are responsible for all costs of entry.
You may be disqualified if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners.
Whilst on-air, you must not make inappropriate or offensive statements.
As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition / the Prize.
We may cancel / amend / end / suspend the Competition if we need to do so due to circumstances outside our control.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “5 Words, 5 Thousand Dollars on Absolute Radio with Wickes” (the “Competition”).

These terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition.

1.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

The competition is a word association game that will be taking place during the Absolute Radio breakfast show while the show is being broadcast from LA from Monday 5th August2019 to Friday 9th August 2019.

Each day the Absolute Radio Production team will pre-record two LA residents to create audio content for the daily competition. During the recording, the two daily LA residents will be asked to give a one-word response to each of five words which are put to them by the Absolute Production team. This will be recorded and will be used during the on-air competition. The LA residents will not receive anything for the participation in gathering the content.

Each day during the breakfast show listeners will be prompted to call in to play ‘5 Words, 5 Thousand Dollars’ and the contestant will be chosen at random after phone lines have been closed (the presenter hosting the game will make it clear when this is due to happen).

At the start of the game, the listener who has been bought to-air will be asked to select which pre-recorded LA resident they want to play against. Each competition round the selected on-air contestant will be able to select from two pre-recorded LA residents.

The contestant will be asked, by the presenter hosting the game, to give a one-word response to each of five words which are put to them by the on-air presenter. After the contestant has given their responses, we then play the pre-recorded audio of the selected LA resident which will contain the answers that they responded to the given random words in the word association game.

For each word that the on-air contestant matches with their selected LA residents words they will win £50 Wickes voucher. If a word is not correctly matched then they will not win the £50 Wickes voucher that was available for that word and this prize will be lost from the prize pot.

If a caller on any day (from Monday 5th August- Friday 9th August) matches all 5 words to their selected LA residents answers in their competition round they will win the Grand prize $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round)*. If the grand prize is won during any competition round from Monday 5th August- Friday 9th August then the competition will come to an end and there will be no further competition rounds.

All of the words for the word association game will be chosen by a member of the Absolute Radio production team.

2.Entry Platforms and Costs

3. DATES

Start Date and End Date. The competition will start on Monday 5th August 2019 and will take place during the hours of The Absolute Radio Breakfast Show (06:00 – 10:00). The competition will end either on Friday 9th August or any working day before this if the $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) Grand Prize in won by the listener (See Section 1 for mechanic details).

If the $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) Grand Prize is not won during any competition round from Monday 5th August 2019 until Thursday 8th August the final competition round will take place on Friday 9th August during the hours of The Absolute Radio Breakfast Show (06:00 – 10:00).

If the $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ the day of each competition round) Grand Prize is not won on any day of the competition round, including Friday 9th August, then this prize will not be awarded and the competition will come to an end on Friday 9th August 2019 without awarding the $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) grand prize.

Before entering, callers should make sure they are able and willing to play the game on air at the time communicated to them. If they agree to a time and are not available they will forfeit their place and an alternate contestant will be selected to come on-air to play to competition.

Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid.

4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry.

5. THE PRIZE

There will be between 1- 5 competition rounds between 5th- 9th August 2019.

For each competition round- where the Grand Prize $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) – is not won by the on-air contestant- each word that is correctly matched will be worth £50 Wickes gift card.

Each contestant- if the Grand Prize $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) is not won by matching 5 words- can win a maximum of 4 x £50 Wickes Gift cards per competition round.

4 x £50 Wickes Gift Card will be available to win each day the competition round is played/ until the Grand Prize $(GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) is won*

If a word is not correctly matched the on-air contestant will not win the £50 Wickes voucher that was available for correctly identifying that word.

The following Grand Prize: $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) will be awarded if during any competition round the on-air contestant matches all 5 words to the LA residents pre-recorded audio clip.

If the Grand Prize: $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) is won and the five words are matched the on-air contestant will receive the $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) and not the £50 Wickes vouchers which each word was worth before winning the grand prize.

The Grand Prize: $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) will be paid in Great British Pound (GBP).

*When the Grand Prize: $5000 (GBP exchange rate will be calculated on https://www.xe.com/ on the day of each competition round) is won there will be no further competition rounds. See Section 1 for details.
